The Haswell Quick-Cast | Friday, May 16, 2025 By Rob Haswell, Chief Meteorologist
☀️ SUN TO START—BUT STORMS CRASH THE PARTY PM
Good morning, weather watchers! We’re kicking off Friday with sunshine and warm vibes, but don’t be fooled, Mother Nature has some drama queued up for this afternoon.
THE BASICS:
🌡️ High: 84°F (That’s 18° above average, folks!)
💨 SW winds gusting 15–30 mph — expect your garbage can to make a break for it.
⛈️ Isolated strong to severe storms possible after lunch and into the evening.
🍕 PIZZA & UNDERWATER PRIMATES?!
In a twist only the calendar could cook up, today is National Sea Monkey Day and National Pizza Party Day. If comic book ads were honest, there’s definitely a pepperoni-fueled underwater rave happening somewhere right now.
🌙 MOON MOOD:
We’re in a Waning Gibbous Phase (86% full). The Strawberry Moon peaks June 11.
WEEKEND: BIG COOLDOWN AHEAD
Saturday: Mostly cloudy, breezy, and noticeably cooler. High 64°
Sunday: Even cooler with lake temps in the 50s. Pack the hoodie and your patience.
LOOKING AHEAD:
Monday–Wednesday: Mostly cloudy with on-and-off showers. Highs in the mid to upper 50s.
Just 35 Days Until Summer! Hang in there, sunscreen squad.
